1987 Volvo 760 Turbo. $1600. It replaces an '02 Passat that was slowly grenading itself.
280k miles, but a new motor sometime between 0 and 280k miles. Transmission shifts a bit rough, but functionally. Slight exhaust leak fore of the cats, which makes for a loud ride on the highway but we'll be dropping it by a muffler shop this week to get that welded up. Sometimes idles well, sometimes a bit rough, and very rarely will sputter at low RPMs. Going to run a basic tune up this weekend and go from there.
The A/C works (absolute necessity here in Texas, no matter what you try to tell me) and blows lukewarm sometimes, slighty cool others. Going to pump some Freeze12 into it this weekend to see if that rectifies the problem.
Exterior is absolutely pristine. Interior is porno red and in surprisingly good shape as well. All in all I'll call it a good deal for him. He had been pushing back on wagons and had been a real pain in the ass to car hunt for, but he eventually bought into my vision and we stumbled across a good deal. Patience works, friends, and he's already talking about the next car he wants to hunt down once we get this thing is super-reliable shape.

nice one! Dont see too many 760's around anymore! Those turbos are great. Surprised it needed a new motor already though

Nice! I've just got into the turbo Volvo wagon game myself (with a '96 850R), and they really seem to have a lot going for them. Mine's not gone quite that far, at 213,000 miles, but aside from the worn-out seats and an incredibly grimy engine bay, I'd easily believe that it had half that mileage, despite having been a MN car (excessive road salt for one half of the year and wheel-swallowing pot-holes for the other) its entire life. If it can take that kind of a beating and still feel that good, they obviously did something right.

I want another one just because of how knowledgeable the turbobricks community is. Love those cars.

It's a great community, have already run across a treasure trove of useful information.

Yeah it was my first real enthusiasts community. When I sold the Volvo and bought a CRX I felt like things had flipped. I went from some of the most knowledgeable and nicest people to scum of the earth. As for the volvo I would do a stage 0
